Ringing in 2013!

January 2nd, 2013 | (0 Comments)

Firework celebration!

Welcome 2013 and welcome back friends!  We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break; we had a lovely break!  We were able to relax, spend time with friends and family, and simply have fun! But now, as we look ahead to 2013, we couldn’t be more excited.  Already, we have met some newly engaged brides!  And so many brides we know will soon be walking down the aisle.

In essence, this is one of our favorite times of the year!  For many, it is the beginning of the engagement and wedding planning process, for many others, this new year represents the year they will walk down the aisle, and for even others… it is both!  No matter where you are in the process, take a deep breath, be present and enjoy the moment – we definitely will!

Cutest holiday couple.

Is it the holiday spirit, people’s cheery moods, the magic of snowflakes coming down?  Whatever it may be, it makes men (and sometimes women) pop the question… In fact, did you know December is the most popular time of the year for couples to get engaged?   So what do you do after you say YES?
  1. Scream at the top of your lungs!  Ok, fine, you may not want to scream… but call all your loved ones and let them know. Then do a little dance, pop the bubbly… in essence, CELEBRATE!
  2. Set a Date!  I know this sounds a bit rushed, but trust us, setting a date early on will help you organize, set expectations and even save money for the big day.
  3. Start thinking about the type of wedding you want:  traditional, modern, destination, quaint, themed… Once this is decided, you can start browsing through your ideal wedding dress.  And sometimes, knowing what dress you want helps set the tone for the wedding… and honestly, falling in love with your dream dress is our favorite part of the process!
Here are some of our current favorites:

Romantic Monique Lhuillier

Romona Keveza modern gown.

Dramatic, gorgeous Lazaro gown.

Short, flirty wedding dress. Monique Lhuillier

Have a nice week.

Lovely candle centerpiece.

It is honestly with a heavy heart that we write this entry.  After Friday’s Sandy Hook tragedy writing this post is hard.  However, as we try to make sense of it all, all we can do is cherish and praise the children, teachers, heroes, families and community of Sandy Hook, CT.  They will now forever be in our minds and our hearts. But as we have been told many a time after a tragedy, we need to continue forward, so that we don’t let the evil people win. So to start off the week, here are some of this week’s favorite web and blog goodies that we wanted to share with you.  Hopefully, a little bit of normalcy can help with the healing in our hearts.

Our prayers are with Sandy Hook.  Well said.
