Madelin’s Romantic Barcelona Wedding Wearing Mark Ingram

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

We’ve actually known each other since high school. Never in a million years did I think the boy I started dating at 19 would be the man I’d marry, but when it’s right, you can’t deny it.
After years of growing together, he proposed in 2023 on the Amalfi Coast, and it was the most beautiful, full-circle moment.

When you started planning your wedding, what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

The moment I saw the castle in Barcelona, I knew it was my dream venue. Because the castle is a soft beige with gorgeous green trees surrounding it, I envisioned red florals and romantic red accents everywhere.
My wedding planning team understood the vision perfectly and exceeded every expectation. It was more magical than I ever imagined.

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

Guest experience was our number-one priority. Our friends and family were traveling all the way from Miami to Barcelona, so great food and amazing music were non-negotiables. We wanted everyone to feel celebrated, comfortable, and immersed in the moment.

How did you decide on the location?

Ten years ago, we visited Barcelona together for the first time and instantly fell in love with the city. We kept returning over the years, and we always knew that if we ever got engaged, Barcelona would be the place we wanted to get married. It felt like home to us in a very special way.

Let's talk about dress! Give us all the deets!

I went wedding dress shopping with my mom, my sister, and my mother-in-law. I always knew I wanted something form-fitting and timeless, but I was torn between lace and a more minimal fabric.
Then I tried on the Mark Ingram gown, and it brought me to tears. It was the perfect balance of modern and classic. Once I put it on, I couldn’t picture myself in anything else.

How did your family, friends, etc., play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

Our family and friends mean the world to us. We had “table captains” at each table, each one handed a bottle of Clase Azul to get the party started—and it was a hit!
We wanted our guests to feel included, appreciated, and truly spoiled: heel stoppers for the ladies, sandals for the after-party, late-night bites… anything we could do to elevate their experience, we did. They’re our most loved people.

What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget?

The first look with my dad is something I’ll carry with me forever. And my husband’s vows, he brought the entire ceremony to tears. Those moments are etched in my heart.

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

Since my dress was strapless, I knew I wanted my hair down. Fun fact: that is my natural long hair and hair color, no dye! We only added extensions for volume, not length. I spent years growing it out so I could wear it down on this day.
For makeup, I wanted something natural, glowing, and timeless.

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

Yes, our videographer, Pixan Stories. He’s based in Barcelona but travels everywhere. He went above and beyond and captured our day with so much heart. We’re forever grateful.

Where are you going on your honeymoon and what are you most excited about?

Our honeymoon is set for September 2026! We’re traveling to South Africa, and we couldn’t be more excited. It will be the adventure of a lifetime and the perfect way to celebrate our new chapter.

La Dolce Vita: Andrea’s Wedding in Rome

Tell us your love story. How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

I’m from El Salvador and my husband is from Panama. We met in Panama through mutual friends, in the most random way, at a party. We stayed in the “friends” zone for several years – always seeing each other in group plans, events and gatherings, but nothing more than that… yet.

During the pandemic everything changed because of an Instagram story. I posted a “healthy food” story with some peanut butter healthy brownies, and he replied saying how delicious they looked and that he also wanted to get super fit. The funny part is that now that I really know him, I can tell you he doesn’t even like peanuts – so those brownies were clearly just an excuse to start talking. That one DM turned into conversations, then daily messages, and eventually into something much deeper.

Four years after we first met, on our second trip to Japan, he planned the most perfect proposal. He knew how much I love Mount Fuji, so he took me to a famous park with an incredible view of Fuji, very early in the morning. At 8:30 a.m., with a photographer he had secretly hired, he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was quiet, emotional, and so us – just the two of us, Japan, and my favorite mountain in the background.

When did you start planning your wedding? What did you envision and how close was the reality to that vision?

I always dreamed of having a very close, intimate wedding – which, for us Latinos, is almost a mission impossible. My dads family is originally from the north of Italy, from a small town in Liguria called Zoagli, so Europe has always felt very special and very “home” in a different way.

When we started talking about the wedding, the idea of doing it in Italy made everything click: it was the perfect excuse to keep the guest list small and invite only the people who are truly close to us, while giving them the most beautiful experience possible. As soon as we started looking, everything began to fall into place for that dream: Rome, our date on November 3rd, 2025, the venues, and all the details that made it feel like a once-in-a-lifetime trip for everyone.

What I envisioned was an intimate, elegant celebration in Europe that felt like welcoming our loved ones into a little “casita” of ours, far from home but full of warmth. The reality was even better than what I had imagined – it stayed small, personal and emotional, exactly the way I always dreamed it would be.

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

For us, the most important thing was that the wedding felt intimate and intentional. We’re both Latin, so our families are usually used to big weddings, but we really wanted a small, close celebration where we could actually talk to everyone, sit at the table with our friends and family, and be fully present.

We wanted:

  • A meaningful ceremony where we could really look at each other and feel what was happening.

  • Amazing food and wine (if you’re getting married in Italy, that’s non-negotiable!).

  • Music that felt like us – a mix of Latin energy and classic songs that everyone could enjoy.

  • Time built into the timeline to just breathe and enjoy Rome with our guests.

On the other hand, we weren’t too focused on strict traditions just “because that’s how it’s done.” If it didn’t feel like us, we didn’t force it. The day was about our story, not a checklist.

How did you decide on the location?

Italy has always been very special to me because my family is originally from the north of Italy, from a small town in Liguria called Zoagli. So when we started thinking about our wedding, Europe – and especially Italy – felt like the most natural place for our dream celebration.

Rome ended up being the perfect mix of everything we wanted: history, beauty, incredible food, and easy access for our guests traveling from Latin America and other parts of the world. When we found our venue in Rome, with its old-world elegance and that feeling of “this could only be in Italy,” we knew it was the one.

Even our church ended up being a little miracle. We had originally chosen a different church, but due to changes we had to switch… and everything aligned for us to get married at San Ignazio di Loyola, truly one of the most beautiful churches in the world. Walking down that aisle, under those frescoes, in the heart of Rome, felt like something that had been written for us long before we started planning.

It allowed us to give our guests a once-in-a-lifetime experience: a destination wedding in one of the most iconic cities in the world, but still intimate and very personal.

Let’s talk dress! Give us all the deets!

My dress was a Monique Lhuillier from Chic Parisien in Miami, and it was truly my dream gown.

I wanted something romantic, elegant and timeless – a dress that would make sense in a Roman palazzo, but also feel very “me.” With the team at Chic Parisien, I found the perfect Monique Lhuillier gown and then we created a little custom bolero to go with it. That bolero completely changed the look and made it feel even more unique and personal.

What I loved most was how the dress moved when I walked and how it photographed – soft, feminine and ethereal, but still with structure and presence. The whole experience at Chic Parisien was so special; they really listened to my vision and helped me build the exact bridal look I had in my head.

How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

Because we’re from El Salvador and Panama and getting married in Rome, our families and friends were a huge part of the process emotionally.

They supported the idea of a smaller destination wedding, which for Latin families is already a big thing! My family loved the connection to Italy and my roots, and his family was so excited to turn it into a big trip and experience.

During the planning, they were part of the conversations, the group chats, the dress photos, the “Should we choose this or that?” moments. On the actual wedding day, they brought all the energy and warmth – lots of happy tears, laughter, and that loud, joyful Latin vibe that somehow still fit perfectly inside a Roman palazzo.

What’s one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don’t think you’ll ever forget?

There’s a moment I will never forget: right before walking in, the doors opened and I saw him waiting for me in Rome, on November 3rd, 2025, surrounded by the people we love most. For a second everything went quiet in my head – no vendors, no logistics, no timeline – just him, my dress, and the feeling of “this is it, this is our moment.”

Another memory that’s engraved in my heart is when we finally sat down together at the table, looked around and realized:
“We actually did it. We brought everyone we love to Rome and this is our wedding.”
It felt surreal and so, so special.

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

I knew I wanted to look like myself, just the most polished, elevated version of me.

Because the dress and the setting were already very elegant, we decided to keep hair and makeup timeless and soft rather than trendy. I went for a classic, romantic look: luminous skin, soft definition on the eyes, nothing too heavy, and a fresh, glowy finish that would look beautiful in photos but also in person.

For hair, I wanted something that worked with the neckline of the dress and my bolero, and that made sense for a long day of hugging, dancing and walking through a historic venue. The idea was: if I see these photos in 20 years, I still want to love how I looked.

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

Absolutely: our photographer, Rubén Parra.

He has a way of making you feel completely comfortable, like you’re just with a friend who happens to have a camera and incredible talent. He understood our story, our cultures, and the emotion behind doing such an intimate wedding so far from home.

The way he captured Rome, the light, the little in-between moments, the tears and laughter – it all feels like a movie, but still very real and very us. Looking at the photos, we can actually feel the day again. I would recommend him to any couple who wants emotional, elegant images that tell the full story.

One of my favorite parts was the time we spent with Rubén just walking and taking photos around the venue and nearby corners of Rome. It didn’t feel like a “photo shoot”; it felt like a little pause in the middle of the chaos where we could be together, laugh, breathe, and let the day sink in.

He gave us gentle direction but also let things happen naturally. Some of my favorite images are from those moments – when we forgot about the camera, and he was quietly capturing our reactions, our connection and the magic of being newlyweds in Rome.

Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?

Right after the wedding, we did what we like to call our “pre-honeymoon” in Italy. We stayed and traveled around, exploring little towns, vineyards and beautiful countryside spots. After all the emotion and intensity of a destination wedding in Rome, it felt amazing to slow down, eat incredible food, drink good wine, and just be together with no strict schedule.

But our big honeymoon is actually planned for 2026: we’re going to China for a full month to disconnect and explore. The plan is to visit cities like Shanghai, Chengdu, Hong Kong and more – a long, slow trip where we can discover a completely different culture and create new memories as husband and wife.

The best part is that our honeymoon feels like it has two chapters: the romantic Italian pre-honeymoon right after the wedding, and then this big adventure in China that we’re already so excited about.

Andrea In Alexandra by Monique Lhuillier and Nicole + Felicia Mini at her Timeless Miami Wedding at the DuPont Building

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

Kyle and I met in law school, after I was his criminal law teaching assistant. We started dating after our professor said I would be crazy to ignore him. Our professor ended up being the one to officiate our wedding!

When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

My vision was based on the venue, the DuPont building. I knew I wanted something indoors because I hate being hot or uncomfortable at weddings. The DuPont building was the perfect place of unique and timeless elegance. Once we had the venue it inspired visions of Alice in wonderland and an enchanted garden. think the wedding nailed the vision as perfectly as I could’ve imagined.

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

We wanted amazing food, fun and lively entertainment, and gorgeous florals. We didn’t want cheesy music, a boring ceremony, or an empty dance floor.

How did you decide on the location?

It was a very easy decision. Both Kyle and I love history and places that tell a story. The DuPont had everything we wanted and we lived that we would make it our own. The important aspect of the location was that we wanted it to serve as both the ceremony and the reception so our guests could have a seamless experience.

Let's talk dress! Give us all the deets!

I chose the Monique Lhulier Alexandra dress, with the nude lining and the turtleneck bolero. It was my dream dress and I everything I had always pictured. My second look was a mini from Nicole and Felicia, we made the side train detachable and added a wristlet so I could dance all night comfortably.

How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?
My mom was my saving grace and helped me at every turn. We wanted to highlight family as much as possible, but my having our grandmothers be out flower girls. Additionally, my dad and my step dad walked me down the aisle. It was impartant to us to honor both of them.

What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.

Crowd surfing with the band!

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

I trusted my makeup artist to do whatever she thought looked best, and I honestly just let her have free range because she is so good at what she does. My hair stylist is equally as talented. I knew I wanted an up-do to show off the turtleneck bolero detail of my dress, and I loved how a loose romantic bun looked- but didn’t want it to be too messy or have hair in my face. They both understood my vision and executed better than I could’ve dreamed.

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

Yes, we hired a fashion illustrator named Ksenia Illustrations. She created hand drawn watercolor illustrations of our guests and it was such a whimsical and chic touch, as I have always been obsessed with fashion and design.

Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?
We took a “mini” moon to Vermont, and the best part was the hot air balloon ride we took to see the beautiful fall foliage.

#realchicbride Alejandra wears a Berta Muse Gown at her Wedding in the Dominican Republic

How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

It’s a bit of an unconventional love story as Tito (Argelio Malagon) and I met on Hinge, we had our first date at Don Shula’s tennis courts and the rest was history! We’ve been inseparable ever since.

The proposal occurred in Bar Harbour, Maine. It was a complete surprise! We had been hiking for hours until he found a spot with gorgeous views of the ocean and the mountains behind. Had I known I was getting proposed to I would’ve fixed my hair or worn white! It was very private and it is one of our most cherished moments. We can’t wait to return with our children.

When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

The vision changed so much! At first I was going for a French garden theme but as we moved the venue to a more private location, we wanted a more timeless look.

Three months before as we moved the location from the Eden Roc’s garden to the Mediterranean private area.

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

The food to us was very important! We sat down with the main chef at the Eden Roc and created a customized menu for our guests.

We did not include a ton of flowers as candles and candlelight gave a more romantic energy.

How did you decide on the location?

The first vacation together was to Dominican Republic so we knew we had to bring our friends and family to our favorite place, the Eden Roc in Cap Cana, DR

Let's talk dress! Give us all the deets!

The girls at Chic Parisien helped me pick out the most beautiful Muse by Berta dress (Penelope by Muse by Berta) which we paired with a Monique Lhuillier bolero! It was timeless and absolutely perfect.

How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

They were everything! Without them there would be no celebration. Their support and presence really cemented our friendships and family relationships, especially since so many of them traveled to spend time with us!

What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.

Our vows! Very untraditionally we said our vows the morning before our wedding in private at our villa. We smiled, we cried, we laughed, and we spent the little time we had together before the craziness began!

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

Vestel, from Makeup Pro Punta Cana chose the perfect natural look for me. She’s the sweetest and knew exactly the look I was going for. Tina worked tirelessly to get the hair just right, a bun for the ceremony and half up half down for the party!

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

My photographers, Boyko Studio and wedding planner Luiciana from BePine Events. After so many meetings and Pinterest boards, they really captured my vision.

Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?

We spent at our honeymoon at the St. Regis in Florence and then at Il Borro, the Ferragamo estate in Tuscany. It was the perfect cozy honeymoon to end the year!

#realchicbride Zenaida in Berta Privée at her Italian Wedding

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

We met in college while working at the FIU Recreation Center and quickly became close friends, always secretly drawn to each other but never admitting it for nearly two years. When we finally did, beginning our relationship felt like the most natural thing in the world. Our lives and families blended seamlessly, and we knew right away that we were meant to be. Years later, after countless adventures, on a beautiful day in Phuket, Thailand, David got down on one knee. It was the most magical and unexpected surprise, completely taking me off guard in the best way possible.

When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

We always envisioned an intimate celebration surrounded by the people dearest to us, a wedding that radiated love and felt like an unforgettable escape. We wanted it to feel both personal and romantic, in a destination that would take everyone’s breath away. Our wedding in Lake Garda, Italy was everything we dreamed of and more. Though we were only 47 guests in total, every moment felt grand, filled with emotion, beauty, and an overwhelming sense of love.

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

We wanted our guests’ experience to be extraordinary! Something they would never forget. Every detail was intentional, from the surprise element to the smallest personal touches. We took a playful risk and didn’t tell our guests the location ahead of time, only giving them a meeting point for the morning of the wedding. From there, boats whisked them away across the lake to our stunning venue, Isola del Garda. As a couple who loves to host and surprise our guests, hearing their gasps and excitement as they arrived was one of our favorite moments. We also made sure to include our aussie, Cherry, who couldn’t be there in person. Her spirit was woven into the day, from custom napkins to her signature cocktail, the Aperol Spritz ("Cherry's Choice” for the night!).

How did you decide on the location?

We visited Lake Garda a few years before getting engaged and instantly fell in love. It felt like a hidden gem- serene, romantic, and still under the radar, for the most part. Over the years, it became our secret escape, and when David proposed, we knew immediately that this was where we wanted to begin our forever. Sharing this special place with our loved ones felt like the perfect full-circle moment.

Let's talk dress! Give us all the deets!

I’m still obsessed with my dress!! I wish I could wear it all the time haha. I had several appointments lined up, convinced I’d need to see so many dresses before finding the one. Chic Parisien was my first stop, and after trying on about eight dresses, I remember thinking, “This is going to be impossible, they’re all so beautiful.” Then a few dresses later came the dress — my dress. The moment I looked in the mirror, I envisioned myself walking down the aisle in it and started crying. It sounds cliché, but when you know, you truly know. I bought my stunning Berta Privée gown on the spot and canceled every other appointment without hesitation.

How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

Keeping our wedding location a secret, even from our moms, was one of the hardest (and most fun!) parts of planning. We wanted the entire day to feel like a shared adventure, and it truly was. Our family and friends were the heart of our celebration; their energy and love made every moment unforgettable. They embraced every surprise, every emotion, and every bit of joy with us. We couldn’t have asked for a more incredible group of people to celebrate our love story with.

What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.

There are so many unforgettable moments, it is really really hard to pick just one. So I'll mention two. The first that stands out vividly is our boat ride to the reception at La Torre di San Marco. Just as we crossed the lake, our captain turned around, mouthed “three, two, one,” and suddenly, we hit a wall of rain! Instead of ruining anything, it felt cinematic, almost magical. As the Italians say, “Sposa bagnata, sposa fortunata” meaning a wet bride is a lucky bride. And I truly felt that in that moment. And of course, I have to mention one of the most unforgettable moments of the night, standing hand in hand with my new husband, surrounded by everyone we love, as “A Sky Full of Stars” by Coldplay played and fireworks lit up the sky above us. It was pure magic and truly one of the best moments of my life.

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

I wanted my look to mirror the essence of our wedding, timeless, romantic, and effortlessly elegant. My gown had such a classic beauty that I paired it with soft Hollywood waves, nothing too polished or structured. When we transitioned to an updo later in the evening, we left loose, cascading waves to keep it natural and dreamy. For makeup, I chose soft, glowing tones with a deeper nude lip, my favorite look for something sophisticated yet understated. My makeup artist, @belaya_lyudmila, completely understood the vision.

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

This is such an impossible question because every single one of our vendors went above and beyond! But if I had to name a few, our dream team included:

Each one played such an integral role in bringing our vision to life, and we’ll forever be grateful for them.

Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?

Since we were already in Europe, we kicked things off with a “buddy moon” in Mykonos alongside a few close friends and family, then continued island-hopping through Greece for our mini-moon. Milos absolutely stole our hearts! The turquoise water and tranquility were unforgettable. We’re still dreaming about it and can’t wait for our full honeymoon soon, back to Thailand, the place that marked the beginning of our forever!

Real Bride Nicole in Mark Ingram at her Wedding in Coconut Grove

Real bride Nicole at her wedding in Miami wearing Jaqueline by Mark Ingram at the Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove.

Nicole wore a Mark Ingram dress she purchased at Chic Parisien for her wedding day in Miami. We chatted with her about her journey to the aisle, her love story, and all the wedding planning details that went behind this jaw-dropping Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove wedding—wait until you see the florals…

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

Our lives have always been intertwined even before we realized it. Our parents went to college together, and we have countless photos of us as toddlers. We lost touch during our childhood and teenage years, but fate brought us back to the same place: the University of Florida. Even then, we didn’t connect. It took a DM from Mitchell to spark a short fling, which eventually turned into something much bigger. Three years later, we started officially dating in 2023, and from that moment, we never looked back.

Once we were together, life became an adventure. We spent every month traveling, celebrating birthdays, holidays, and family trips—checking so many things off our bucket list. It always felt right, like this was forever. Mitchell moved from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, and shortly after, he asked my parents for their blessing. He planned the perfect proposal during my birthday weekend in Miami, surrounded by our immediate family, followed by an incredible Italian dinner at Il Gabbiano.

When you started planning your wedding, what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

As an interior designer by trade, I always envisioned a classic and timeless design. The architecture of the venue was a top priority for me. I immediately dove into Pinterest for inspiration, and the end result exceeded even my highest expectations. We spent countless hours discussing the big picture and the tiniest details, and it all came together perfectly. When I walked into the room, I couldn’t find a single thing I would have changed. For me, the small details matter even more than the big ones—the branding, the personal touches—those are what truly tie everything together.

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

For us, it was all about the details. We wanted our personalities to shine through in every element of the wedding and for our guests to feel special every step of the way. From welcome bags at the hotel and a signature welcome drink to custom photos on our espresso martinis, every detail mattered.

How did you decide on the location?

From the start, I knew I wanted a hotel venue so our friends and family could stay together and make it a full weekend celebration. Architecture was key—I wanted a space that highlighted old Miami design and was located in a walkable neighborhood full of charm. The Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove checked every box. I loved how intimate the hotel felt, making it seem like the entire property was part of our wedding.

Let’s talk dress! Give us all the deets!

Chic Parisien was my first stop in the dress search. I had done some research beforehand but hadn’t found a style that truly spoke to me. When I started trying on dresses, I was drawn to lace, sparkle, and a dropped waist—but my sister convinced me to try one style outside my comfort zone. The moment I put on the Jacqueline Mark Ingram dress, I immediately teared up and so did everyone in the room. People always say, “You just know when it’s your dress,” and I felt that in my soul.

How did your family and friends play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

Family and friends mean everything to me, and I couldn’t have planned this wedding without them. My mom and sister were absolutely instrumental. My sister is also getting married just three months after me, so planning together was such a unique and fun experience. My mom was truly my right hand she joined every call, listened to every stressful rant, and shared my passion for making this the most incredible weekend ever. I can’t thank her enough for her attention to detail and unwavering support.

What’s one specific memory from your wedding day that you’ll never forget?

It’s impossible to pick just one, so I have to share two. First, the morning of getting ready with all my girls (and a few guys!) it was pure fun: glam time, music, funny videos, and soaking in the excitement. Second, signing the Ketubah and marriage license with our immediate family and witnesses. That intimate moment of officially becoming married, surrounded by those who matter most, was unforgettable.

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

I’m a glam girl at heart, so I knew early on I wanted a full glam look. Hair was harder, I had several trials because I couldn’t decide. After hours on Pinterest, I settled on a half-up, curled style with lots of volume for a romantic vibe. My makeup was glamorous but not over the top just enough to make me feel my most beautiful.

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

All of my vendors were incredible, and I truly believe they made our wedding a success. One I wish more people knew about is the bridal valet service. We used ANV Bridal Valet Inc., and I cannot recommend them enough. From steaming gowns and sewing suits to making sure I had water and everything in between they were lifesavers for me, my bridal party, and our loved ones.

Where did you go on your honeymoon, and what was the best part?

We did a “mini-moon” in Cancun, Mexico, at the Banyan Tree and it was amazing. The service, food, and accommodations were unbelievable. The best part? Our villa on a lagoon with its own jacuzzi and pool. It was the perfect ending to an unforgettable week. We’re already counting down to our full honeymoon in Europe next summer!

New York Bridal Fashion Week Photo Diary from Chic Parisien

Fresh from New York Bridal Fashion Week, we’re still coming down from the stylish whirlwind of a few days in the Big Apple to see the newest wedding gowns from our bridal designers. It’s our immense privilege to travel to NYBFW to get an up close look at new gowns before they start their travels for trunk shows around the world, eventually visiting our Coral Gables bridal boutique. During an action packed few days, we visit all the designers who are showing new gowns this season (some designers chose to show one collection per year instead of two) with either intimate appointments, fashion shows, or both.

This season, Spring 2026, team Chic Parisien started our mornings with energy-focused breakfasts at Dirty French (yogurt and granola or smoked salmon for extra protein!) with lots of coffee, of course, before we hit the town to make all our appointments and runway shows.

We caught a runway show from Nicole + Felicia, Monique Lhuillier, Ines Di Santo, and Floure Studios, plus a cocktail party with Kyha Bride and a packed presentation from Berta. We saw Leah Da Gloria in a sun drenched space, Reem Acra in her jewel box studio, Marmar Halim’s gorgeous gowns up close.

Here is a little photo diary from Kendall’s (head buyer at Chic Parisien) camera roll.

#realchicbride Gabriella Wore Monique Lhuillier Alexandra Gown at her Wedding in Umbria

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

Ben and I met in a CPR class we both, as well as my best friend Victoria, took while working at a mental health clinic in Delray Beach, Florida. A year later in 2017, we were both transferred to the same building and reconnected. At the time, Bentley (my dog) was only a couple of months old, and I would bring him to work so the patients could play with him. We bonded over the respective love for our dogs, Bentley and Hemingway, and made plans to meet at a local dog park outside of work. Ben and I (and Bentley and Hemingway) were instantly inseparable, and the rest is history!

Fast forward to 2023, we bought our first home, with a yard and pool so the dogs could play outside every day. I wanted a house before a ring, but I did know the ring was coming! Then in October, Ben made plans for us to go visit the Flagler Museum, using the excuse that it was a "bye week for the Vikings" so I would not be suspicious. We started with an iced cappuccino at Saint Ambroeus, a typical relaxing Sunday morning. Before entering the museum, Ben got down on one knee and proposed.

When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

We got engaged in October of 2023 and originally wanted a “slow start” to planning. Once I realized that venues and vendors were booking out into 2025 and 2026, I realized I had to get moving! My vision for the wedding was romantic, baroque, elegant, renaissance-age beauty. I wanted light pink and white roses, candles, and light pink linens. I would say my planner, Roberta, executed this vision flawlessly and it was just as I had dreamed of! I would recommend her to anyone getting married in Italy!

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

One thing that was really important to us is that we did NOT want to do a private first look. We were both very adamant about the first time he sees me in the dress is when I come down the aisle. In Italy, the tradition still stands that the groom should not see the bride, so it worked out perfectly since that is what we wanted. Ben obviously had no idea what my dress looked like, so it was all just such an incredibly sweet moment. We also chose to write personal vows and deliver them during the ceremony. I am not being dramatic when I say there was not a dry eye in the room. It was really special for our guests to hear the love we share, and the promises we were making to each other. If I could go back time and time again, I would do both of these things exactly how we did it.

How did you decide on the location?

Originally, we started looking at venues in Florida. We toured The Breakers, The Boca Resort, The Colony, and the Flagler Museum. I was searching for something that gave me a feeling like I was in Europe. I wanted that elegant, baroque feeling that comes from an Italian museum. On Christmas, my dad said to me “why are you looking for something Italian in Florida, just go to Italy!”, and to Italy we went! I met with a couple of wedding planners before I chose Roberta, and I could not be happier that I went with her team to bring my wedding dreams to life. When we were venue hunting, I told her I wanted four things: a pink building, fountains, rose garden, and Cypress trees. My dad was right, and I had dozens of gorgeous Italian villas and venues to choose from! Ultimately, we chose Villa Valentini Bonaparte in Umbria, and it was just so perfect!

Let's talk dress! Give us all the deets!

Before I was engaged and I was just mindlessly Pinterest shopping for what I would want my wedding dress to look like one day, I had a very specific style in mind. I wanted a classic, simple, satin ballgown and a long veil. The second I got engaged, however, it was like my mind instantly changed and I could not see myself getting married in that. I immediately started looking at lace dresses and fell in love with Monique Lhuillier’s Alexandria gown. I went into Chic wanting to try this dress on specifically.

My bridal attendant, Marisol, gave me plenty of different shapes and styles to try on. Everything was so beautiful, and I could have worn any of them. However, she kept Alexandria for last, and before I was even zipped into the gown, I was tearing up. It was exactly what I envisioned. I wound up going with the matching bolero, which I wore during the ceremony and photos, and I also chose the matching veil with lace trim & blusher.

Wearing this dress in my Italian villa, I felt just like a princess. I am not really a traditional girl, but it was the vision of classic Sicilian bride that I was looking for. I know this is for Chic’s blog so it might come out as biased, but I would like to take a moment to express my gratitude for CP. From the first time I walked in, I felt welcomed and supported. I thought I was going to have trouble finding a dress that I loved on myself, but I truly had the magical wedding dress moment at CP. For each fitting, they were kind, took their time, and it was evident that they really care about their gowns and their brides. I also want to thank CP for allowing me to relive my wedding through these questions!

How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

I am someone who really enjoys planning and putting things together, so I did a lot of my planning by myself and with Roberta. Victoria, my best friend, did a lot to support me throughout the process- she’s the best maid of honor ever! I am extremely blessed to have an amazing set of friends and family who travelled thousands of miles to celebrate me. Even before the wedding, I was in Florence with my cousins and some friends, and we all got together for drinks, dinner, and karaoke. The entire trip was just completely unforgettable, and I am so filled with love and gratitude for every person who contributed to that.

What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.

There were so many points of the day that were just special in their own ways. I had a sleepover with my bridesmaids the night before the wedding that was so fun. Being that we all were staying on property, I knew avoiding my groom was going to be impossible. We wound up enjoying cappuccinos and breakfast in the morning with some of our guests and then went for a little walk and sat in the garden, quietly chatting and soaking up the beauty and serenity of our wedding morning. Following this, I led a small yoga flow with my girls with a stunning view of Tuscany behind us. I felt grounded, calm, and full of love as I started getting ready for the best day of my life.

Honorable mention for our first dance. We danced to Future and Miley Cyrus’s “Real and True”, which is not exactly a traditional wedding first dance song, but it was us. We did not choreograph a dance, barely rehearsed, but we had fun singing and dancing to a song that has been special to us since our very first date.

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

I am not someone who wears a lot of makeup, so I knew I would not be comfortable in a full glam-style look, even though it is beautiful! For my makeup, I really wanted a natural looking base, with some pink blush, and very light eyebrows. For my eyes, I chose individual false lashes, just to enhance my natural lashes, and a simple, pink-toned shadow look. My makeup turned out exactly how I wanted it!

The way I decided on my hair look is kind of funny. Per a recommendation by the woman who cuts/tones my hair, I was trying out different hairstyles when I would go for my dress fittings. The first time, I wore my hair all down in a blow-out style. The next, I did half-up, half-down, with curls and face-framing loose tendrils. The next, I did a low, loose up-do with curls and loose tendrils. For my FINAL fitting, when I picked up my dress, I wore my hair in a low, slick-back bun. This was not something I ever even considered, and frankly, I only wore my hair like this to this appointment because it was dirty and I was too lazy to style it. However, when I was looking at the photos I took at the appointment after the fact, I realized that the slick-back bun complemented my dress so well, and I loved the way it looked with my bolero and veil!

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

All of our vendors were seriously amazing. Benito Sauro (DJ), Kyrios (live saxophonist), Giuseppe Giovanelli (photographer), Gaetano DiGiacomo (videographer), Roberta Sabbatini (planner and florist), Villa Valentini Bonaparte (venue), Preludio (catering), Angelo Nenna Pintor (MUA), along with all of the staff were truly who helped make our wedding spectacular. The music was some of my favorite parts of the day. I think having a saxophonist perfectly curated the exact vibe I was looking for. He covered Tears for Fears’s “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” as I came down the aisle, and we had Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere” play as we came back down the aisle together. For cocktail hour, our DJ live performed classic Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Nat King Cole-era songs, with the saxophone perfectly accompanying him. Into the night, Kyrios also stayed on the dance floor, with the saxophone adding an unforgettable vibe to the party.

Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?

We checked out of the villa, and made our way to Ischia, a small fishing island off the coast of Naples. We spent the week there, splitting our time between two amazing resorts: Hotel Continental Mare and Botania Relais & Spa. It was quaint, romantic, and relaxing- just what we were looking for after planning a destination wedding for the past 16 months! Before returning to the states, we spent one night in Rome, enjoying one final dinner together as newlyweds, and then meeting some friends and family for a night out on the town! All of that being said, there really was no “best part”. From the start of the trip, where we spent a couple nights in Florence, visiting our favorite spots and restaurants, going out with friends and family, and shopping, to the 3-day wedding weekend, to Ischia, then Rome, the entire trip just felt so magical.

#realchicbride Carolina in Reem Acra at her Miami Design District Wedding

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

We met on Hinge in 2020 — a typical pandemic love story, as I like to call it. Our first dates were filled with long walks around Coconut Grove and Brickell, cozy movie nights at home, cooking dinner together, and casual outings with friends. We got to know each other quickly. Since we were both born and raised in Miami, we already had plenty of friends in common, which made it feel like we had known each other forever in such a short time.

Fast forward three years, and we were living in our first home together. One morning, as we were getting ready to head out the door for a flight to Savannah, Georgia, Andrew called me into the room to “help with something.” When I walked in, he was down on one knee. I was completely shocked, overwhelmed with happiness, and instantly in tears. I don’t even think I said my answer out loud — it was just an automatic YES!

He proposed in the place that means the most to us: our home, where we’ll create countless memories with our families, friends, and future children. It was everything I could have imagined — perfect and perfectly us. I soaked in the moment all the way to the airport, and by the time we were settled with a glass of champagne, I couldn’t wait to share the news with everyone we love.

When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

I had been envisioning my wedding long before Andrew and I even met — typical girl, haha! I was always saving inspiration on Instagram: ring styles, venues, floral designs, dresses, and more.

I planned my wedding entirely myself. I’m an event planner, and honestly, it was easier to plan my own wedding than some of my work events — but let’s keep that between us! I knew exactly what I wanted, who I wanted to work with, and what I didn’t want. Everything came together effortlessly. Planning my wedding was, and still is, one of the most fun and amazing experiences I can remember. When it was time to bring all my visions to life, I reached out to Jose at Fiction Events for creative direction and Christy at Events by Christy as my wedding planner to keep everything on track.

I can say without a doubt that the wedding fully realized my vision. While we kept it a black-tie affair, we wanted guests to feel comfortable rather than stuffy. We incorporated plenty of lounge areas, lush greenery, modern colors with rustic planters, open seating with beautiful long wood tables, outdoor high tops for guests to enjoy the “Miami cold” with a cigar, and plenty of space to dance the night away on a large dance floor.

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

Of course, creating a beautiful first impression as guests walk into the venue was extremely important — we wanted them to be immersed in the ultimate vision of our wedding. But our top priorities were music and great food, which would leave a lasting impression long after the day ended.

Andrew is a big music fan, so that was particularly important to him. Beyond serving croquetas during cocktail hour, he wanted the night of the wedding to revolve around amazing music that kept our guests dancing from the moment they arrived until the last song – at 3 a.m.!. That energy was perfectly brought to life by Jordan Sanchez.

Another priority for us was skipping traditional speeches and a seated dinner. While both are beautiful traditions, they didn’t feel like “us.” Instead, we included speeches at the rehearsal dinner, which was more intimate. We wanted our guests, the night of the wedding, to fully enjoy mingling, dancing, and going back for that second plate of spicy rigatoni — not be tied down to a formal meal.

Even seven months later, guests still rave about the food! Mena Catering truly exceeded our expectations. We chose a buffet-style dinner to keep the party vibe going all night, and it was perfect.

How did you decide on the location?

There was never a doubt in our minds — we knew we wanted to get married in Miami. We started looking at venues just a month after getting engaged (yes, I got started quickly! Haha), and that probably ended up being the hardest decision. After going back and forth between our two favorites, we literally picked the name out of a hat, and Paradise Plaza in the Miami Design District was the winner.

We wanted a modern venue to match our vision. The space is a blank canvas, letting a bride and groom’s imagination run wild. With floor-to-ceiling windows, an open rooftop overlooking the Design District, and a versatile indoor/outdoor layout, it was the perfect choice. On the night of our wedding, it was a bit chilly, so we kept the wall to wall accordion doors open for the indoor/outdoor concept — guests enjoyed cocktails under the Miami night sky while taking in the modern rooftop garden. It was perfection!

Let's talk dress! Give us all the deets!

Oh the dress! I will always be in love with my dress! I need some type of excuse to wear it again haha! Honestly, did not expect to find “the dress” on the first day of dress shopping. We had made a couple of appointments around Miami, as I knew what I wanted but open to trying all different styles. One of our appointments was at Chic Parisian in Coral Gables and they just so happen to have a Reem Acra trunk show that day. The brand representative and sales associate brought me a couple of options - probably tried on close to ten dresses but there was of course one, might have been option number 3, that stuck with all of us in that dressing room!

It wasn’t what I was originally looking for, but it ended up being so much more. The dress had a modern silk silhouette with a fitted bodice that flowed into an almost A-line skirt. The best part was the removable lace skirt underneath. The lace featured a delicate floral design that peeked through the slit of the dress — it truly made the gown unforgettable. After our first dances, I removed the skirt for a little “second look” moment.

Stunning, timeless, and elegant are the words that best describe my wedding dress, and I couldn’t imagine anything more perfect.

How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

Both Andrew and I have big families and are blessed with some of the most amazing friends.

We included our families in fun parts of the planning process, like food tastings and selecting invitations and stationery. I have three sisters, and they all came to my dress fittings — including my niece — and it was the best experience!

On the wedding day, we opted for some non-traditional touches. We didn’t have a full bridal party, but Andrew’s two brothers served as his Best Men, and my younger sister was my Maid of Honor. Our best friends’ children were the flower girls and ring boys. My sisters, our moms, other family members, and close friends all had meaningful roles during the ceremony. Having those who have been part of our journey right by our side made the day even more special, and we were truly honored to share it with them.

What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.

To be honest, I remember almost everything from that day — it’s still all so clear in my mind, and I hope it always stays that way.

Not one, but two memories stand out most vividly. The first was the morning of our wedding. Andrew and I had stayed together the night before — one of those non-traditional choices that just felt right. We wanted to wake up next to each other and start this new chapter the way we begin every other day: together.

I woke up extra early, not from nerves but from pure excitement. I went downstairs to grab coffee and breakfast for us, and before heading back up to the room, I wandered around the property. I took everything in, said a quiet prayer, and walked down to the beach where I sat alone and reflected. It was peaceful and perfect.

The second memory was walking down the aisle. As the music began and the doors opened, it truly felt like “showtime.” The moment I saw Andrew through the sea of our closest family and friends was indescribable. When we reached the end of the aisle, our photographer captured one of my favorite memories — me looking at my father as he gave me away. He kissed my forehead, my mother did the same, and in that instant, I felt an overwhelming mix of love, joy, and excitement.

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

I always knew I wanted to look natural on my wedding day — not overly done up or styled in a way that didn’t feel like me. I chose a simple, elegant messy bun for my hair, paired with soft pink and brown tones in my makeup for a timeless, effortless look.

I worked with The Clyque, who I’ve trusted for past events, and they were amazing as always. Their passion and dedication truly shine through in their work, and they made me feel like the best version of myself.

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

Oh my gosh all of them! I truly lucked out with my vendors. They felt like family and I gave all of my trust to them. Not only did they execute everything perfectly but it was beyond any of our expectations. I couldn’t be happier with the vendors we chose and each have a special place in my heart. I know we will use them again for future baby showers, birthday parties, baptisms and more!

Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?

I am actually writing all of this as I am packing for our honeymoon. We decided on the South of France with some parts of Spain, Marbella and Palma de Mallorca.

We waited a couple of months for our honeymoon because in those parts it’s seasonal, the summer was the perfect time. It also gave us more time to plan with ease and it was actually very excited to have something to look forward to.

I’ll get back to you on my favorite part! We are so excited to create memories that will last a lifetime.

#realchicbride Maria in Yolan Cris at her St. Pete Wedding

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal? We met in high school through a mutual friend at a party once but our love story didn’t begin until college. We reconnected at a bar and have been each others light switch since. We had a very slow burn but ultimately when we moved in together in Chicago we knew we would never live apart again. We have since moved to Miami and purchased a condo together and not long after came the ring!

When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

When we started planning our wedding, our vision was modern, clean, and intimate. I would say our wedding vision came to fruition and then some. The weekend started with an electric welcome party that really set the tone for the weekend. Saturday was a lot of formality as any other wedding but we were so excited for the reception because we knew this group was going to bring the same energy from the welcome event.

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

The most important thing for us as a couple was entertainment. We both really enjoy having fun and wanted to have the right conductor to get the party going and have it stay there. We had fire dancers, electric violin and of course our amazing DJ Friday night. Saturday we switched things up and had drums, sax, electric edm dancers and our DJ that somehow made the night feel completely different from Friday. Aside from entertainment, we were really guest focused and wanted to be sure we were being cognizant of people’s time and energy so we did a 6pm church ceremony that led right into cocktail hour and reception.

How did you decide on the location?

We came to a decision with our venue because once we stepped foot on the campus we were in complete awe. The service and vibe at The Vinoy in St Pete’s is breathtaking. It’s almost as if you at in another country with out having a 10 hour travel day. I would pick The Vinoy 10 times over again.

Let's talk dress! Give us all the deets!

My dress was by Yolan Cris, it was inspired by engagement photo shoot dress. I went with boho chic and felt so confident and really expressive. I feel like a lot of dresses are starting to look the same or maybe social media influence trends matter more than staying true to what you want and feel the best in. Chic Parisian has such a variety of dresses and will actually tailor fit your vision to any dress. We added lace and relocated the skirt attachment to make it more modest and practical. I wore my dress all night because the over skirt was a first look in itself. I love my dress more than ever even months later.

How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

Our family and friends were a major role in our wedding weekend. We had our best friends and siblings in our wedding party and my mom walked our then 5 month old down the aisle. It was truly the most special moment seeing her beauty and happiness on the most important day of our life. I’m so excited to have my husband and daughter’s last name.

What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.

The most intimate moment that I will never forget is walking out to the tea garden for our first look. Time stood still and our love was stronger than ever. It was a moment out of a story book, intense and unforgettable.

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

I decided on letting my artists take the lead on what they thought would look best with a few suggestions and preferences. I wanted my hair up to snatch me and my skin glowy. Aside from that they really put the vision together and my girls were the best glam team ever. My bridal party was super impressed it’s really hard to make a whole bunch of girls happy when it comes to glam. Every single person said it was their best makeup and hair look 10 toes down. Alex and Tiffanie brought their A game and didn’t leave a detail behind. I will never look that pretty again, until they glam me next.

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

I really don’t think one vendor stood out more than the next. I haven’t mentioned my photography and videography yet so I’d also like to shout them out for bringing timeless elegance that I will be able to carry and cherish for the rest of my life.

Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?

We are taking our honeymoon in September to Marbella Spain. We decided to wait since our wedding was a weekend in itself. We wanted to really enjoy the honeymoon. It’s been the craziest year of our life between having a baby and a wedding so we are really excited to take some time as a family and reconnect. I am most excited to party and spend quality fun with my husband.

#realchicbride Kyleigh in Emeline by Ines Di Santo at her Bahamas Wedding

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

I met Reed in the summer of 2018, right when he started his first job after graduating from Florida State University. I was an intern at the same company (and a Seminole myself), and we were both new to the Fort Lauderdale area. It didn’t take long for us to realize that we had a special connection—after all, we were navigating a new city together! What started as casual chats at the office quickly blossomed into an amazing friendship. We’d wrap up work, head to happy hours on the boat, and before we knew it, dinner dates became a regular thing. Weekends were filled with laughter and adventures, from exploring local spots to spontaneous trips to the Bahamas and Caribbean. Who knew that one little summer internship could lead to all that? Fast forward a few years of adventures, and countless memories, Reed finally asked me to be his forever partner during a spontaneous trip to the islands one weekend.

When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

From the very beginning, I envisioned a beach wedding—something casual, fun, and totally us. I wanted it to feel like an island getaway for our guests, with everyone we love in one place to celebrate. The goal was a laid-back weekend: toes in the sand, salt in the air, and no shoes required. I grew up on the beach and my husband grew up fishing and surfing, so the ocean holds a special place in both of our hearts. It just made sense to say “I do” in a place that felt so meaningful to us.

Looking back, it’s kind of amazing how closely the real thing matched what I had pictured—maybe even better. The setting was everything we dreamed of, and the vibe all weekend long was exactly what we hoped for: relaxed, joyful, and full of love.

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

There were a few things that really mattered to us when planning the wedding—mostly centered around keeping it true to us. We didn’t want anything that felt too formal or overly traditional. It was important that the day felt relaxed, easygoing, and fun—not just for us, but for everyone there.

We made a conscious choice to skip anything that felt forced or too structured. No big ballroom, no tuxedos, no strict timelines. We wanted people barefoot, salty, and smiling. Instead of a black-tie dinner, we opted for fresh seafood and sunset views. Rather than getting caught up in the “wedding norms” we focused on what felt genuine—good music, great people, and a beautiful setting that reflected our love for the ocean and each other.

At the end of the day, we just wanted to create an experience where everyone felt like they were part of something special, not just guests at an event—and I think we did just that.

How did you decide on the location?

Choosing the location was actually one of the easiest decisions we made. We got engaged in the Bahamas and have spent so much time exploring the islands together—it’s a place that holds a really special spot in our hearts. When we stumbled upon The Other Side, we were completely blown away. It felt like our own little slice of paradise.

We instantly knew we wanted to share that magic with the people we love most. The exclusivity of the property made it feel even more intimate and personal, like we were hosting everyone on our own private island. It was the perfect backdrop for the kind of celebration we had always dreamed of.

Let's talk dress! Give us all the deets!

To be honest, I had no idea what kind of wedding dress I wanted going into it. I figured I’d just know when I found it—and that’s exactly what happened. As I started trying things on, I found myself drawn to dresses with appliqué details that felt playful and light, perfect for the beachy, Bahamas vibe we were going for.

Then I put the dress on… and my mom, sisters, and mother-in-law all gasped and said “this is the one!” That moment sealed it—I just knew it was the one. It felt effortless but elegant, romantic but not too overdone.

To tie the look together and give it that “old money” feel I love, I wore my hair up and added a silk neck scarf. It was classic with a twist and felt so me—the perfect mix of island chic and timeless bridal.

How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

Our family and friends played such a huge role in both the planning and the big day itself—we truly couldn’t have done it without them. From the very beginning, they were our biggest supporters and helpers. Whether it was helping us make decisions, calming the chaos, or just being there to cheer us on, they showed up in every way.

On the wedding weekend, everyone jumped in to make things feel seamless. It honestly felt like a team effort—my mom and sisters were everywhere at once (steaming dresses, organizing details, keeping me sane), and our friends brought the energy and joy we’ll never forget. It meant the world to us to be surrounded by so much love, support, and excitement. We felt like the luckiest couple in the world.

What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.

One moment I’ll truly never forget was walking down the aisle. Seeing all of our favorite people in one place, there just for us, was overwhelming in the best way. And then locking eyes with my future husband at the end of that aisle—I was a complete mix of happy tears and pure joy. It felt emotional, magical, and so surreal all at once.

Another moment that stands out was reading our vows to each other. It was incredibly intimate—we both got choked up, and honestly, so did most of our guests. It was one of those moments where time felt like it stood still. Just the two of us, completely in it, surrounded by love. I'll hold onto that feeling forever.

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

When it came to hair and makeup, I wanted something that felt timeless but still true to the beachy setting. I decided to wear my hair up to complement the neckline of my dress and to keep it practical with the ocean breeze. It also gave me the perfect excuse to add a silk neck scarf, which tied the whole look together in a really chic, personal way.

For makeup, I kept it fresh and natural with soft, glowing skin and neutral tones. I didn’t want anything too heavy—just enough to feel polished while still looking like me.

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

One "vendor" (if you can even call them that!) that absolutely made our wedding unforgettable was the Junkanoo band. It's a Bahamian tradition, and bringing that cultural element into our celebration was hands down one of the best decisions we made.

They were such a fun surprise for our guests—the energy, the colors, the music... it was electric. Everyone was dancing, smiling, and completely immersed in the moment. It added such a unique, joyful vibe and was the perfect nod to the island that means so much to us. I wish every couple could experience that kind of magic at their wedding!

Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?

We went to Harbour Island in the Bahamas for our honeymoon, and it was everything we needed and more. After such a fun and full wedding weekend, it felt so special to slow down and just soak in that newlywed bliss.

Every day, we found time to reflect on the magic of the wedding—usually while lounging on the beach with our toes in the sand and no schedule at all. It was peaceful, quiet, and exactly what we needed to let it all sink in.

One of the highlights? We squeezed in a day of fishing on the flats, and my husband caught a bonefish—which made his whole trip! It was the perfect mix of rest, adventure, and time to just be together.

#realchicbride Alondra in Custom Liz by Ines Di Santo — her dream wedding dress

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

It all started with a simple question: “How tall are you?” From that moment, the conversation never stopped. Our first date felt like the beginning of something special, and since then, we’ve been inseparable. From spontaneous getaways to quiet weekends with our dog Lilly, we’ve built a life full of love and adventure.

We dated for seven years before getting married, and he proposed after five. Though he mentioned marriage early on—around our two-year anniversary—we were still in college, just 22 and 23. He wanted to wait until he could offer a more secure future, always thinking ahead like the gentleman he is.

The year he proposed, I picked an oval-shaped diamond from Freddy’s in Miami. Four days before my birthday, he surprised me with a magical proposal at Secret Gardens, followed by a Miami staycation, dinner at La Mar, and an engagement-moon in Mexico.

It was a dream come true—and a beautiful reminder that waiting for the right love is always worth it.

When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

I had five non-negotiables for my wedding: Bridgerton-inspired romance, the dress of my dreams, an intimate celebration, a breathtaking venue with a solid rain plan, and a bouquet of peonies. I had them all—and I was a very happy bride.

Our wedding was a multi-day celebration, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. We kicked things off with a sunset boat tour along the Tagus River, treating our guests to unforgettable views of Lisbon. The night before the wedding, we hosted a private dinner at the beautiful Palácio da Anunciada, filled with heartfelt toasts and incredible food. On the third day, we said “I do” at the breathtaking Palácio Nacional de Queluz.

As a perfectionist, I expected something might go awry—and the wind did challenge our florals—but nothing could take away from the magic. Thanks to the incredible team I handpicked alongside my amazing planner, Ana Coelho Duarte, I truly felt like a princess in a Bridgerton fairytale. I stayed true to myself throughout the process and created something timeless—something I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

While I don’t consider myself religious, I’m deeply spiritual and identify as Christian—so being married by a pastor of my faith was a non-negotiable. Finding an English-speaking pastor in Lisbon proved challenging, but my aunt worked what felt like a miracle. One day, a Portuguese pastor walked into her business in Miami, and—by pure chance—he had a connection to Pastor João Trindade from MCI Lisboa. Somehow, it all came together, and Pastor João kindly agreed to officiate our ceremony and bless our union. It truly felt like divine intervention.

To honor our grandparents who couldn’t attend, we asked them to write prayers for us. These were read aloud by our mothers during the ceremony, and it was such a touching, emotional moment.

And of course, our dog Lilly—my heart broke that she couldn’t be there, but the palace didn’t allow pets, and the long flight from Miami wouldn’t have been safe for her. Instead, we found creative ways to include her: a custom illustration of her featured on our invitations and bar signs, lily of the valley flowers for the bridesmaids, and even a surprise giant cutout of her face during the reception. It was a hit, and everyone loved it.

How did you decide on the location?

As soon as I got engaged, I dove headfirst into the venue search—looking everywhere from Florida to Italy, Spain, France, and Portugal. I emailed over 150 venues and narrowed it down to my top 20, which I shared with my then-fiancé. Every location had its charm, but when I showed him the first photo of Palácio Nacional de Queluz, he immediately wanted to see more. After watching a video tour on YouTube, he looked at me with a serious face and said, “I don’t know why you’re still searching. That’s the one.” And he was right—we had seen countless places by then, but none compared to that.

At the time, we had never been to Lisbon, let alone visited the palace in person, but we knew in our hearts it was the place. We picked our date and began planning the wedding from afar. I even started dreaming about seeing the palace in real life—wondering what it would feel like to stand there.

A few months before the wedding, we finally visited Lisbon and Sintra. The moment we arrived, even just dropping off our luggage, we were already enchanted by Lisbon’s energy and views. But nothing prepared us for Queluz. When we stepped inside, I was in total shock—the interiors were jaw-dropping, with the most magnificent chandeliers I had ever seen. And then, when I stepped into the gardens and finally looked up at the palace’s main façade, I burst into tears. It was so beautiful, it felt unreal—like a dream. We even touched the walls to convince ourselves it was real.

That day, the palace became something sacred to us. Since then, I’ve returned more than five times, and it remains one of my favorite places on Earth. I hope to visit it for many years to come—it’s a place that holds a permanent spot in our hearts. It was even my "something blue" on our wedding day.

Let's talk dress! Give us all the deets!

The dress! It was the second most important part of my wedding, right after marrying the love of my life. I consider myself one of the pickiest people on earth, and finding the perfect gown was no exception. I searched high and low for inspiration—visiting over ten bridal boutiques, even traveling to New York. I initially had a budget in mind since my mom was generously paying for the dress, and I didn’t feel right asking for more—even though she kept reminding me that I was her princess and she wanted me to have the dress of my dreams.

Everything changed when I walked into Chic Parisien and met Alana. She made both me and my mom feel instantly at ease and handled our dynamic with such grace. I was still saying “no” to every gown, just like I had before, until I showed her a picture of the Liz gown by Ines Di Santo—a design I had fallen in love with but had never been able to find since it had just debuted. Alana told me they had ordered one for the store, but it hadn’t arrived yet. She went above and beyond by contacting the designer and requesting the runway sample just for me.

When she called to tell me the dress had arrived, I told my mom to cancel her plans—we had to go. In my heart, I knew I was about to try on the dress. And when I did… it was magical. Though it didn’t zip up completely (I’m on the curvier side), I still felt like a princess. My mom, who might actually be pickier than I am, wasn’t convinced by the original fabric. But again, Alana stepped in—contacting the designer, who agreed to create a custom version for me in a different fabric: magnolia. The dress ended up being far above our original budget, but when my mom saw the look on my face, she told me not to worry for a second. She knew—it was my dress. No one knew at the time, but I had always been searching for a modern take on Cinderella’s wedding gown. At last, I had found it.

I’ll be forever grateful to Alana and the entire Chic Parisien team. They made my dream come true. The dress was even more perfect after the custom alterations, all thanks to Mary, who was a magician. I even called her the night before the wedding to walk me through how to properly iron the gown. Their care, patience, and love will always have my deepest gratitude.

How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

My family played a huge role in the planning process—especially my mom, who was by my side every step of the way. There were countless sleepless nights filled with decisions and details, but they’re also moments I’ll cherish with her forever.

My bridesmaids were incredible, always offering thoughtful input. My mom, younger sister, and cousin even traveled with me to New York on a dress-hunting trip, and they took turns accompanying me to alteration appointments.

My older sister, who was also my maid of honor, helped me find my wedding shoes and worked closely with me on the one major thing I DIY’d—our wedding stationery. From long Zoom calls designing every detail to assembling invitations, save-the-dates, and custom welcome bags by hand, she was a godsend.

My fiancé’s graphic design expertise was also a huge help—he created custom visuals, coordinated the groomsmen, curated all the playlists, and planned our honeymoon. My maid of honor’s partner—lovingly crowned my “man of honor”—spent hours helping me compare menus and vendor options.

My little cousin helped me pack for two full weeks before the wedding, she was my right hand emotional support throughout the planning process. My childhood best friend, who now lives in Spain, became my second hand throughout the wedding weekend. Although she couldn’t be involved in the planning from afar, her presence during those days meant everything to me. The rest of the groomsmen were equally kind and eager to help with anything we needed.

Our people truly made this journey unforgettable. We’re beyond grateful—and our hearts are full.

What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.

So many beautiful memories happened on that one perfect day, but if I had to choose a single moment, it would be something my husband shared during his vows. Of course, his words were filled with love and tenderness—but then, in the middle of them, he said, “I’ve been keeping a secret.” I was completely caught off guard.

What followed was a story he had never told me before—something deeply personal (which I’ll keep private) that happened even before our first date. He said he had kept it to himself all those years because, even back then, he somehow knew I was the one. And he wanted to save that story for a moment as meaningful as our wedding day.

Hearing those words broke me—in the best way. I sobbed. I had never felt more seen, more loved, or more special in my entire life. It’s a memory I’ll carry in my heart forever.

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

Surprisingly, I wasn’t too picky about my actual hair or makeup looks—I was more focused on finding the right artists to bring everything to life. My wedding planner was instrumental in this part of the process. She has impeccable taste, so when she gave me her recommendations, I paid close attention.

After my trials, I knew immediately that Tom Perdigão was the only person who could do my makeup better than I could do it myself. He’s a true artist—immensely talented and professional. I hired him to do my makeup for the entire wedding weekend, and he absolutely delivered. We chose each look spontaneously, and somehow, he just got me. His energy is infectious, and having him there made the whole weekend feel even more special.

For hair, I had a specific inspiration in mind: a wedding look worn by influencer Greta Louise Tome. I loved the silhouette of her dress, which felt similar to mine, and her hairstyle looked timeless and elegant—but most importantly, my hair had to last all night. That’s when I found Tania de Sousa, and after our trial, I knew I was in good hands. In fact, right after the trial, I went straight to the airport and was on a plane for over nine hours… and my hair didn’t move. What more proof did I need?

Tânia was incredible—talented, kind, and so easy to work with. Between her and Tom, I felt confident, beautiful, and completely at ease on my wedding day.

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

It’s hard to choose because I truly loved all my vendors—I'm already dreaming up a vow renewal just to hire them again! I can't pick a favorite. But one that really surprised me was Catia from Behind The Vows. I found her just a few weeks before the wedding when she was just starting out and only had two videos posted, but I could tell she just got it.

She was so kind, attentive, and incredibly professional. Even with barely any direction from me, she completely delivered. She sent me content the very next day, and her edits were thoughtful, fun, and creative. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does—and I was obsessed.

Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?

My husband planned an incredible honeymoon across Europe, and it truly felt like a dream. We explored Cascais, Milan, Lake Como, the Dolomites, St. Moritz, Mallorca, and Barcelona. Every stop was magical, but the most special part was simply spending uninterrupted time together. I love him so much—he’s like fresh air to my lungs.

Our favorite destination was, without a doubt, the Dolomites. It was surreal—every turn revealed another breathtaking view. Visiting had been on our bucket list for years, and it exceeded every expectation.

#realchicbride Monika in Lucky by Kyha Bride at her Miami Wedding

Tell us your love story! How did you meet and how did you get to a proposal?

It's the invisible string theory at work. We reunited post college (and post COVID), while Javier was back in town during a winter break while getting his MBA, and I was also recently back after living in New York City for a few years. The last thing I expected was to reunite and ultimately fall in love with someone in Miami, who had orbited me my whole life.

When you started planning your wedding what did you envision? How close did the actual wedding get to that vision?

I envisioned something that was Miami tropical chic meeting Nantucket nautical charm. We knew we wanted a black-tie wedding, but wanted it to fit the al fresco venue (Biscayne Bay Yacht Club). We landed on something that felt fresh and coastal, seaside underneath a sailcloth Sperry tent, while also whimsical and romantic, with pastel florals and pearl accents. I would say the vision versus reality was pretty uncanny, thanks to Cristy Lloveras of mcl coordination!

What were a few things that were important to you as a couple to include (or not include) in the wedding?

We wanted to make sure our Cuban heritage showed up throughout the celebration – from the Spanish traditions we honored during our Catholic ceremony to the food and pearl-studded guava that sat atop our wedding cake, and of course to the cigars that were passed around all night. And at the end of day, we wanted our guests (and ourselves) to just have FUN.

How did you decide on the location?

We wanted something open air and near the water. Coconut Grove is our favorite neighborhood in Miami, and where we spent many of our early dates, so Biscayne Bay Yacht Club was an easy choice – feeling the ocean breeze sweep throughout the tent all night definitely validated our decision.

Let's talk dress! Give us all the deets!

Chic Parisien was always at the top on my list for bridal stores – not just because it's so famed, but also because they had more up-and-coming designers I had my eye on. I knew I wanted to try on a Kyha Bride dress, and was actually pretty close on going with another one that I tried on at my first appointment. When Chic announced they were doing a Kyha Bride trunk show, I knew I needed to go back in and try the new collection. And that's when I found her! Not going to lie, I was pretty back and forth between my original pick and the new one, but Irina was so helpful and supportive throughout my journey.

How did your family, friends, etc play into your wedding planning and wedding day?

We chose to not have any bridal parties, and instead just invited our close friends to share a few special moments together big the ceremony. We also hosted a welcome party the evening before, which allowed us to spend time with close friends, families and all our guests who traveled in from out of town – the wedding day was a whirlwind (and truly flew by!) so I'm happy we had the time with them beforehand.

What's one specific memory you have from your wedding day that you don't think you'll ever forget.

The limo ride with Javi from the church to the venue. I felt totally infinite. The "hard" part was done, the nerves were all out of the way, and all we had in front of us was a night of fun and dancing – and of course I couldn't wait to see how everything turned out at the venue. That reveal was a top memory as well!

How did you decide on your hair and makeup look?

I worked with Marco of Marco Artistry for my makeup and Natalia of Master of Glam for my hair, and honestly both are such talents with impeccable taste that I didn't have to spend too much time thinking through my looks. For makeup, Marco's style is exactly in line with what I envisioned – natural and feminine – and it's why I chose him. Natalia can execute any style you give her, so we entertained a few options, but ultimately I wanted something that let my dress shine – so we did an organic bun (nothing too structured or tight) with some face framing pieces.

Was there one vendor you used that you wish everyone knew about?

Too many! But my photographer Karla was essential at every stage of the wedding process, providing support and a creative vision far beyond what I expected from a photographer. And Monika from Lucelo Flor absolutely CRUSHED the florals at my wedding and truly made my vision a reality – it's the one thing everyone commented on the most. I mean how could you not – she hand-pressed pearls on anthuriums and fruits!!!

Where did you go on your honeymoon and what was the best part?

We went to Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore – we agreed we needed to go far away and for long as we could (3 weeks) for it to feel like a REAL honeymoon. Boat days in Thailand with secret beach picnics were by far our favorite part of the trip.
